Providing Support

The Primary ESL Coordinator will work together with the relevant campus Head of Department to formulate, implement and monitor Performance Improvement Plans for underperforming teachers.

Plans are SMART and focus on addressing teacher deficits identified through QC and QA observations.

The following resources are typically made available to teachers to help them develop their practice and evidence the required Teacher Standards:

  • Mentoring - 1 to 1 support with lesson planning and delivery
  • Peer observation - support in identifying needs-appropriate peer observation tasks and scheduling peer observations
  • Developmental observations - regular bi-weekly observations that measure progress towards Performance Improvement Plan goal achievement and provide specific and actionable developmental feedback on lesson planning and delivery
