Reporting (what to whom)

As stated, the hierarchal structure at Vinschool varies from one campus to another.

It is important that you know the people in your organization such as your managers, co-teachers, SAO, and TAs. Any information about materials for instruction, issues in the classroom, assessment schedule and criteria, behavioural management, child protection and safety, and projects that you would like to propose, will be assisted by the people in your organization.

It is easier to foster a clear and thorough communication line when you are familiar with your own team. You may refer to your branch’s organizational structure to know more about reporting procedures at Vinschool.

Record Keeping

Data collection is significant in teaching and assessment. Accurate record keeping supports instructional decisions and serves as a visual representation of students' learning gaps and progress.

Keep a record of student’s attendance using Vinschool’s SO system. This is to be done everyday and should be accomplished within the first 5 minutes of every lesson. The SO system can also be used to communicate with parents regarding student homework or celebrating students’ successes.

It is also necessary that you track your students’ learning progressions through participation, quizzes and performance through individual and group tasks and projects offline and online. For online record and assessment, the school’s LMS is advised to be used.

The LMS

Blended learning is a method of teaching that combines online educational materials and opportunities for online interaction with traditional in-person classroom methods. It is this principle which drives the need for teachers to support the learning of the students of Vinschool through an online platform, or LMS, which gives students control over time, place, path, or pace when doing advanced reading or lesson revisions.

You are expected to use your LMS to support instruction. Trainings on how to maximize the use of LMS to increase student engagement through content, forum and exercises are given to support all teachers, especially the new members of the team.

Please refer to your campus’ policies regarding the use of our system’s LMS to support teaching and learning. Your HoDs will surely provide you training on this.

Assessing Procedures

Primary ESL Teachers are expected to assess the students’ speaking skills in each of the four units in every semester. They are also going to assess the students’ speaking skill given at the end of each term, along with their comments or feedback for each of their learners.

Secondary and High School teachers are expected to assess the students’ speaking and learning skills by the end of each term, along with their feedback for each student to be uploaded on SO.

As part of the assessment process, we are encouraged to maximize the employment of formative and summative assessments in our classrooms to help us:

1.    Plan our lessons better.

2.    Choose activities that promote inclusion of every learner so that ‘no child is left behind’.

3.    Enhance our instructional delivery and practice and alter them to gauge the interests of every student and to aid them in reaching the set outcomes.

4.    Promote rigor and equity so that every student is given the same opportunities to apply learning to achieve their targets.

5.    Apply differentiated strategies to suit each learner needs.
