EXISTING STUDENT PROGRESSION POLICIES

MINIMUM GPA TO PROGRESS = 5

The minimum GPA to automatically progress to the next Stage in school year 2022-2023 is 5.

Students with a GPA of under 5 should attend Summer school and must have an individual support plan in place when they progress to the next Stage in school year 2022-2023.

LEVEL JUMPERS

PRIMARY ESL STANDARD TERM 1 GPA = 9/10 Support: These students are flagged as potential level jumpers and are invited to attend ‘Stage X Stretch’ clubs and complete activities on the ‘Stage X Stretch’ LMS as recommended by their class teacher

Course materials: Global Stage = current Stage + 1 (we are changing course books next school year removing the risk of direct repeat of content)

Assessment: Teacher recommendation / EOT results / Oxford Young Learners placement test

SUPPORT NEEDED

PRIMARY ESL STANDARD TERM 1 GPA = 5 OR BELOW Support: These students are flagged as needing support and are invited to attend a weekly ‘Stage X Support’ club and complete activities on the ‘Stage X Support’ LMS from in Term 2.

Course materials: Global Stage + Global English = current stage

Assessment: Teacher recommendation / EOT 2 results
