Verify lesson plans
According to Vinschool’s regulation on lesson plan management, lesson plans must be prepared and uploaded to the storage folder one week before the real teaching week. The plans submitted to the storage folder must have been verified by the Head of Department, and this verification task must be accomplished every week.

Although the mapping software has suggested some activities for each lesson, there will be cases where they are not suitable for the actual conditions of the class the teacher teaches, or the teacher has a different approach that is more optimal. Therefore, teachers will need to plan their own lessons, design activities to suit the reality of their classes, and the Head of Department will be responsible for reviewing and assessing the suitability, suggesting amendments or improvements, then approving the official teaching plan of the teacher. The teacher's final lesson plan must be approved by the Head of Department before being taught in the classroom.

It is highly recommended that Department Heads organize lesson plan sharing sessions as a regular professional development practice where teachers can present, provide feedback and reflection on lesson plan ideas. This practice provokes discussions and helps teachers generate more ideas for effective instruction thanks to colleagues’ feedback. Through these reflective sessions, the Head can timely celebrate what is being done well and adjust what is still inappropriate. The quality of real teaching will, therefore, be surely enhanced.

Monitor the preparation of teaching and learning resources

The Heads are responsible for checking and ensuring that teaching and learning resources (learning materials, learning platforms, teaching aids, etc.) are well prepared before the lesson is delivered.

The resources include:

  • LMS: LMS learning module must be completed at least one week prior to the teaching week. The fundamental components of LMS instructions for study encompass lesson objectives, self-study instructions, class procedure, and exit tasks. Heads of Department should refer to the LMS evaluation scorecard to assess the quality of their teachers’ LMS modules and give advice on how to improve them.
  • Teaching slides: Teaching slides demonstrate the lesson flow with instructions for activities and visual inputs for learning. The Heads must verify teachers’ slides before use to ensure that they meet requirements (clarity, accuracy, logical sequence, etc.).
  • Other teaching aids: A recommended list of other resources and teaching aids are specified on the curriculum mapping portal. It is part of the Head’s and also teachers’ duty to guarantee that these materials and aids are adequately prepared and ready for use.
