IDENTIFICATION OF EMPLOYEES' NEEDS FOR COACHING AND DEVELOPMENT

Prior to the implementation of employee/teacher coaching and development, identification of their needs for coaching and development is crucial, ensuring effective coaching, capability gap filling for individuals and solving of system-wide problems.

Basis for identifying employees/teachers’ needs for coaching and development:

  1. Professional standards for a position
  2. Periodic performance appraisal results (for all positions)
  3. Skill assessment results (if any)
  4. Classroom observation findings (for teachers)
  5. 3600 assessment results (for leaders)

Based on assessment results, the Leaders shall compare employees’/teachers’ current competencies and work efficiency against the standards and work requirements to address the gap between their current levels and the expectations, thus drawing up a suitable coaching roadmap.

Information on training and coaching needs will be shown in employees’/teachers’ IDPs or needs analyses upon the formulation of schools’/system’s coaching plans.
